At Husker Harvest Days this past year, soybeans took center stage in an unexpected way, fighting fires. The Nebraska Soybean Board held a drawing for 10 pails of SoyFoam TF-1122, a soy-based firefighting foam, to help aid local first responders and protect communities. The Brainard Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department was the lucky winner of the SoyFoam, developed through a partnership between the United Soybean Board and Cross Plains Solutions. Grain bin safety saves lives. The Nebraska Corn Board and Nebraska Soybean Board are teaming up to improve grain bin safety by donating two grain rescue tubes and two training sessions to rural fire and rescue departments in Nebraska. ?? ?? With grain bin accidents remaining a serious risk in agriculture, this initiative ensures first responders have the knowledge and resources to act quickly in an emergency.
