Nina Leckron has been a staple of the Live On Nebraska team for nearly 17 years. Starting in tissue procurement, she's now earned a new title as Director of Quality & Regulatory Compliance. "My experience on the Operations side helped me develop a deep understanding of all the things that go into making organ and tissue donation happen, from the referrals to the recoveries to working with our amazing donor families. This has allowed me to step into my new role as Director of Quality with a great deal of process knowledge and awareness of the challenges that our staff may encounter, which helps me identify efficiencies that could be created or ways that Quality can offer support and guidance."

It's back-to-school week for many Omaha students! This year we teamed up with North Omaha Community Partnership to ensure kids in Omaha have a great start to the school year. Our amazing staff contributed supplies for more than 300 students and helped stuff 2,500 book bags. The book bags were distributed at Saturday's Community Fun Day where we also got to talk about superheroes and share how we can all be heroes by registering as organ and tissue donors.

R. David Robles, LCSW has been with Live On Nebraska for over two years but will use the knowledge he's garnered from more than five years of OPO experience as our newly appointed Director of Hospital & Family Services. ? "I believe that one of the biggest indicators of how successful an OPO can be is the strength of their relationships with their hospital partners. A lack of collaboration at any point can significantly hinder the donation process. Our Hospital Services team does an incredible job. They strive to be the industry leader in how they collaborate with and educate hospitals about organ and tissue donation. In my opinion, we have the best HS team in the country. ? "Our Donation and Family Advocates work around the clock with our donor families to save and heal lives through organ and tissue donation. Our aftercare team ensures we meet the needs of our selfless donor families after donation has taken place. Our Family Services Department is a strong, resilient group and I am grateful for all they do day in and day out. ? "Because of the work of these teams, our organ team members, and our hospital partners, we have been able to establish ourselves as a national leader in donation rate. I am proud of the work they do and all they have accomplished. "We continue to improve and refine what we do every day in order to become the best we can be."
