As my term as President of NEACOL comes to an end, I want to reflect on the incredible journey we've had in 2023 and 2024. Over these two years, NEACOL positively impacted over 1,680 children through 8 projects and $75,000 USD in donations. In 2023, we celebrated our 10th anniversary with meaningful milestones, supporting three impactful projects in Colombia focused on education. We also hosted key events like Mix & Mingles, a Tertulia, and our 10-Year Anniversary Gala, all while launching a new website to enhance our communication. In 2024, we expanded our mission even further, supporting five projects across Colombia and Massachusetts, benefiting nearly 1,000 children. Our efforts included providing clean water, promoting sustainable food production, improving nutrition, and supporting higher education. We also hosted significant events like our 11-Year Anniversary Gala. None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, sponsors, donors, and members. Your support has allowed us to make a lasting impact on the lives of Colombian children, and I am deeply grateful for all your contributions. I am excited to welcome Oscar Escobar as NEACOL’s new President, starting tomorrow, and Claudia Hoyos as Vice President. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your president. NEACOL Annual Toy Drive supports the children of “Camino a Casa” a division of Heading Home, a Boston based homeless organization that provides emergency, transitional and permanent housing to homeless children and their families.
