Our mission is to increase research-based technology commercialization activities in the New England region. We offer programs that provide researchers with support to explore the potential applications for new technologies. Researchers, engineers, and others working on a STEM-related technology may enroll and engage in a customer discovery process for their innovation.
These programs, offered year-round, are held at universities and institutions across the New England region, including MIT. Completing an I-Corps regional or site course may qualify teams for participation in the more intensive NSF National I-Corps Teams program and the opportunity to receive additional funding to support their innovation research.
If you are a researcher or post-doc interested in learning more about how to move your research from the lab to commercialization, take a 3-week Spark class at MIT for free. As a participant, you will quickly investigate whether there’s a market for your technology, understand who would use it, and why. You will receive an introduction to the fundamental I-Corps? principles, learn how to identify potential customers, and then “get out of the building” to determine if you are solving a significant real-world problem.
