Creating low stress performance opportunities. ? Recognizing perfectionist mindsets and how to heal them. ? Understanding post pandemic mental health in dancers and dance educators. ? Developing a healthy studio culture. ? Resources for supporting dancer with mental health challenges. ? Empathetic and effective approaches for working with injured dancers. Dance Education needs LEADERS Whether you are in a traditional leadership role such as a department chair or studio owner, or you are currently in a position where you don't yet view yourself as a "leader", we ALL need to be prepared to lead strategically. Strategic leadership as a dance educator might look like... ?? Working to save a collegiate or K12 dance program by building relationships with administrators and community members, seeking alternative funding options, or demonstrating the success of your program ?? Expanding and improving your dance studio by creating a strategic plan to address program risks or weaknesses ?? Advocating for dance education in your state or city by gathering fellow dance educators, contacting decision-makers, and confidently communicating the importance of dance education. ?? Empowering both fellow teachers and students to take on leadership responsibilities through intentional delegation and meaningful guidance. ?? Taking on a department, school, or district position that reaches beyond the dance program ?? Stepping into a volunteer leadership role such as an NDEO or state affiliate board or committee member, a local arts or education council member, or a committee at your school or studio.
