Here's some simple math for you: Turning clocks back an hour + deer mating season = increased opportunity for vehicle collisions. Here are some tips on how to stay safe on the roads this fall: ? Slow down in deer crossing zones and wooded areas, especially in the evening. ? Remember that deer often travel in groups, expect one to be followed by others. ? Slow down and blow your horn with one long blast to frighten deer away. ? If you hit a deer, do not touch the animal. A frightened, injured deer can hurt you or further injure itself. Move your car off the road (if possible) and call 911.
