Every PR pro knows keeping a pulse on the industry is a must. As a proud North Carolina State University alum, I was thrilled to see how my alma mater is shaping the future of PR at the NC State PRSSA Southeast District Conference. From sign-in to speaker lineup to audience engagement, the event was 100% professional-grade. Not a surprise (because, Wolfpack), but still so impressive. Excited to see this Pack hit the ground running in the PR world! #PR #NCState #GoPack
What an incredible day! After months and months of planning, our Southeast District Conference, I ?? PR, was a huge success. I could not be more proud of the PRSSA at NC State exec board for all the work we put in to make this event happen. Of course, we never could have done it without Alicia Caracciolo and the help she provided from the national branch of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). And, a huge thank you to Kalyca Lynn Becktel, Ph.D., APR, APIO for being the biggest supporter we never had to ask for! What started as just a small idea last summer became nearly a year-long project, and I’m thrilled with how successful it was. The exec board and I came up with the conference theme at our first board meeting in early August when brainstorming our favorite aspects of the communication industry. Every idea boiled down to one central theme: we’re PR professionals because we love what we do. We wanted to create an event that personified that sentiment, and I can confidently say we accomplished that goal. I knew it before, but yesterday reaffirmed the fact that I ?? PR! Putting this together was a team effort, and I’m so grateful to our incredible sponsors for their generous support. Whether you donated money, swag items or helped connect us with other professionals, your efforts meant the world. Thank you, also, to our incredible guest speakers: the breakout session hosts Philip Tate, APR, Fellow PRSA, Mikaya T., Kendall Lambert and Katie Johnson; the panelists Quinn Novels, Molly Schoneveld, Courtney Wilson, Jessica Holt and Virginia Ford; and the unforgetable keynote speakers Alex Podlogar and Megan vanVollenhoven. This event would not have been possible without your contributions, and our attendees were so fortunate to hear from you all. Thank you!

On February 27th, I had the privilege to travel to Raleigh and attend the I ?? PR Conference at NC State. What an eye-opening experience this conference truly was! From the breakout sessions, to the panel discussions, to the fabulous guest speakers, I was stunned by the wisdom each of these PR professionals had to offer. It gave me peace of mind to know that these individuals started right where I'm at, and I'm more enthusiastic than ever to start my journey as a young PR professional. A huge thank you to PRSSA at NC State for hosting this conference. It was no small task, but your effort and preparation clearly paid off! We look forward to collaborating with you all again in the future. A special shout-out to President Megan Disabella and the rest of our executive team at PRSSA Appalachian State University. This Friday, PRSSA at NC State had the pleasure of touring E&V Strategic Communications, and it was such a fantastic experience! Their team always shows up and shows out for our organization. They shared valuable insights about their agency and offered us great professional advice that we will carry with us throughout time. It is truly a warm welcome every time.
