Today marks the anniversary of Bloody Sunday—a pivotal moment in the fight for voting rights. On March 7, 1965, 600 brave souls marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, demanding justice. They were met with brutal violence, but their sacrifice ignited a movement that led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Photo credits: NMAAHC, Spider Martin, Getty Images
