The other day sports psychologist Shane Hlad, PhD came by and performed a psychology session with our Fortnite teams. Our goal with our youth teams is to take a holistic approach which includes the gameplay, physical, and mental approach.

We are excited to announce that Carolina Storm is officially live. Based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area, we are committed to building a thriving gaming community through professional teams, live events, and high-quality content creation. Right now, we’re recruiting Rocket League players in the Triangle area who are not only high-level competitors, but also leaders and role models who can inspire the next generation of gamers. ????Exciting News!???? I'm thrilled to announce that the Breaking the Code summit has secured an amazing venue at the North Carolina Esports Academy! This 3-day summit, running November 9th, November 16th, and November 23rd is dedicated to empowering girls in grades 6-9 by exploring STEM careers in the gaming industry. We'll dive into hands-on activities like game development, storytelling, coding, and character design, all while fostering a sense of belonging and confidence in the next generation of gamers and STEM leaders. ??What is the study about??? Breaking the Code focuses on how representation and mentorship from women in gaming and exposure to STEM content can positively influence young girls' self-efficacy and identity in STEM and gaming fields. ??How can you get involved??? I’m looking for passionate individuals and organizations to support the summit through: ?? Curriculum or activity ideas ?? Swag or merchandise for participants ??? Connections to women in the gaming industry who can speak or mentor ?? On October 18-19 be working with the Education Team at Epic Games to bring an E2 (Esports and Education) weekend to North Carolina Esports Academy. The event will include a day of professional development on Friday for educators and after school / camp providers to support bringing Epic tools to your learning space. On Saturday, we will offer a morning workshop for high school students and educators followed by an esports tournament for middle and high school students. The event will be free and co-sponsored by Epic Games and North Carolina Esports Academy. Space is limited. Sign up required.
