N.C. AirTAP’s ALMP Course 2: Airport Administration and Governance was a success! Participants gained valuable insights into airport organization, governance, and operations, while learning how local airports fit into state and national systems. ??

During Hurricane Helene, NCDOT used LiDAR technology to quickly assess critical corridors like I-40 in the Pigeon River Gorge. LiDAR creates precise 3D models of the ground surface, allowing NCDOT’s Photogrammetry staff to analyze erosion impacts on highway infrastructure. #Drone #HeleneNC #LiDAR #Photogrammetry

At the NC Advanced Mobility Symposium, Secretary Joey Hopkins highlighted NCDOT’s response to Hurricane Helene and how the Department is leveraging technology to enhance the efforts. He was joined by Directors Becca Gallas, PE and Brennon Fuqua, MPA, P.E., PMP , who dove deeper into their units' role in Helene and their multimodal collaboration to deploy and scale mobility innovations into North Carolina communities.
