Do you feel like you have a mission in life? We do. ?? We're a museum of dolls, toys & miniatures in beautiful Spencer, North Carolina. The reason your support as a member, volunteer, donor, visitor, or friend of the museum means a lot to us is because our nonprofit's mission means a lot to us, too. We never want to see the artistry, joy, and history of dolls, toys, and miniatures disappear. With your support, we can use our care and passion to preserve and expand our collections so these items can remain here for generation after generation to discover and enjoy. Today, we celebrate the birthday of a daughter and a best friend whose memory moves within everything we do here at the museum. Her name is Amy Dawn Morris. Amy lived with a rare form of spinal muscular atrophy and passed away just before her 22nd birthday. Her family established this museum to honor her legacy and memory. Amy was a passionate collector of dolls, toys, and more - she especially?loved?Barbie and Bab Mackie Barbies in particular. Our museum?started with her small and beloved collection. Over the years, Amy's spirit has been present for those who work, volunteer, and support the museum, including those who generously donate their own beloved collections. A lot of what we do is about a big picture - a mission to spread the love and artistry of dolls, toys, trains, and miniatures. But that mission is incomplete without honoring the legacy of the passionate collectors who have come before. And that one special collector who inspired it all. Let's celebrate Amy today, and the joyful, exuberant, creative legacy that lies within so many of the items in our collection. As doll collectors, we love to, you guessed it, collect...but we also love to give away and give back. This month the Pink Heels annual doll club donation gathering took place in Raleigh. Club members styled and packaged dolls for charity to brighten the holiday season for others. Over 1,000 dolls have been donated to charity by the doll club since 2013! The holiday spirit at work. We are grateful to have been a part of this year's efforts. Well done, Pink Heels!!
