Last Friday, we held our 5th We Are NC Gov conference. It was a fun and insightful event that allowed government staff to explore emerging AI technologies and accessibility best practices to better serve the people of North Carolina. During the event, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality discussed how they saved nearly 18 months of work by utilizing generative AI to modernize legacy fishery databases, and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction highlighted their efforts to improve accessibility. Sessions featuring representatives from NCDIT also focused on the responsible use of AI, digital accessibility regulations and standards, and upcoming digital services.
