Protect Medicaid. Protect Cancer Survivors. The House of Representatives will this week consider a budget resolution that instructs the House Energy and Commerce Committee to reduce spending by $880 billion. Most of those cuts are expected to come from Medicaid. Cuts of this magnitude would have a devastating impact on the 80 million Americans enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) nationwide. We urge the House of Representatives to protect Medicaid coverage and ensure that millions of Americans can rest assure they will have access to care through Medicaid. Congressional leaders are considering devastating cuts to Medicaid funding that would put access to cancer care at risk for millions of cancer survivors, including those currently in treatment. For these cancer patients, Medicaid is a lifeline. Together, we can show Congress just how critical Medicaid is to the cancer community.
