Black and African American people experience disproportionately high incidence and mortality rates from #ColorectalCancer. While screening is only one element of the work that needs to be done to address these CRC disparities, it's critical that we promote screening in the best way possible. The 2022 Messaging Guidebook for Black & African American People: Messages to Motivate for Colorectal Cancer Screening provides tools to help you work towards closing disparity gaps by using tailored, effective cancer screening messaging.

When resources are limited, how can we still communicate effectively with our audiences? We’re excited to highlight an ACS NCCRT resource that helps address this challenge: Tailoring Colorectal Cancer Screening Messaging: A Practical Coalition Guide. This tool offers actionable strategies, case studies, and insights from five diverse organizations that found creative ways to maximize their resources and build impactful CRC screening messages for their communities. The American Cancer Society recommends that people at average risk for colorectal cancer should start regular screening at age 45. Colorectal cancer screening can prevent colorectal cancer and catch it early when treatment is more effective, ultimately reducing deaths. This March, we're proud to recognize the work of the five organizations that received the ACS National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable’s National Achievement Award for their work to increase colorectal cancer screening rates in communities across the nation.
