At the NCCHC National Conference in Las Vegas, NCCHC Resources program manager, Claire Wolfe, co-presented mixed-methods research exploring MOUD diversion in carceral settings. One key takeaway: The motivation for MOUD diversion is perceived to be wide ranging. When crafting MOUD policies and procedures, it is not only worthwhile, but crucial, to understand why individuals divert and to respond accordingly. Today, our Managing Director, Fred W. Meyer, MA, CJM, CCHP, led an impactful session at the AJA’s Elevating Leadership Skills Summit for Jail Professionals, titled?"Interdisciplinary Leadership: Preventing In-Custody Deaths."?The key takeaway? Working in silos doesn’t foster high-quality care— in fact, it can lead to adverse outcomes. At NCCHC Resources, we believe in the power of collaboration. Our team of consultants includes a wide range of experts—doctors, nurses, psychologists, security specialists, and data analysts—because every discipline deserves a seat at the table when addressing complex issues in correctional health care. By breaking down silos and embracing interdisciplinary teamwork, we can better support safe and healthy environments for those in custody.
