Micro Bird has announced its acquisition of the Nova Bus site in Plattsburgh, ensuring continued bus production in the region after Nova’s exit in 2025. "Thanksgiving has come early with this exciting commitment to our region by Micro Bird," says Chamber President Garry Douglas. This milestone is a rare achievement, made possible by a determined team effort across all levels, leveraging strong economic ties with Quebec and our robust transportation equipment cluster. The Chamber’s ‘Doing Business in the US’ team was on the road once again, this time joining the Federation des chambres de commerce du Quebec (FCCQ) in Trois-Rivieres to present to Quebec-based companies looking to enter the U.S. market. Over 20 participants heard from our team of experts who discussed incorporations, accounting and taxes, visas, customs clearance, banking and finance, insurance, real estate and more. We look forward to continuing to partner with the FCCQ and helping Canadian businesses establish their presence here in the North Country.

The North Country Chamber hosted a 2-day visit on November 18-19 by the new QUEBEC DELEGATE GENERAL in New York, DAVID BRULOTTE. The DG is a leading representative in the U.S. for Quebec and successive Delegates have been key partners in our many Quebec-New York endeavors. It was his second visit with us having participated in our Retreat in early November as well. Activities over the two days included a tour of the U.S. border facilities at Champlain; a tour of Alstom in Plattsburgh; a Roundtable lunch at the Chamber; an address at SUNY Plattsburgh; a dinner meeting with State Legislators; and an interview at the Press Republican. We thank DG Brulotte for his time and partnership and look forward to great collaborations going forward.
