NCC members and the broader industry are constantly innovating, finding greener??options for building. One method for improving sustainability is the use of lower-carbon cement blends.??? ?? Portland-limestone cement (PLC) is a blend that reduces carbon emissions by up to 10% by incorporating more limestone for the same strength and durability.?? ?? In fact, all 50 U.S. state Departments of Transportation have formally approved the use of PLC in construction and paving.????? ?? In Oregon and Washington alone, this has saved over 450,000 tons of CO2. That’s the equivalent of more than 107,000 gas-powered vehicles driven per year.?? ??
