Helping clean up ?? Are you looking for work and interested in a job at Newcastle City Council? We are holding two information sessions highlighting the opportunities within the catering and cleaning teams at the council. Transforming tower blocks to make them warmer and more comfortable for residents ?? Air source heat pumps have safely made their way to the roof of a Shieldfield tower block where they're being installed as part of major regeneration works that are replacing outdated heating systems with a new energy-efficient solution. Residents in Pandon Court, King Charles Tower and Lort House will also benefit from improved insulation, new windows and new roofing as part of this project we're delivering in partnership with Equans UK & Ireland.

Our?retrofit project at Shieldfield Towers?has?hit a major milestone with the installation of the first Air Source Heat Pump at Pandon Court—one of three towers being decarbonised in collaboration with Newcastle City Council. ? This transformative project,?part funded by the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (the predecessor to Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund), is replacing outdated heating systems with cutting-edge, energy-efficient solutions. Residents will benefit from air source heat pumps,?external insulation,?upgraded windows and smart thermostats. ? These?improvements?are already making a noticeable impact, improving comfort and energy efficiency for residents, who have expressed an outstanding 96% satisfaction rate so far. ? #Sustainability #Decarbonisation #EnergyEfficiency
