“The support [NC4K has] shown us through the adoption program has been a huge blessing. The kids have received things that maybe we might not have been able to provide for them, with having additional medical things to pay for or just spending time away from work or just spending time at the hospital. The adoption program has really meant a lot to our kids.” -Shelley, Mom to NC4K Hero Jameson. Thank you to everyone in our community of Champions who has signed up to adopt a family this year and the years before! You are creating magical moments in the lives of NC4K Heroes and loved ones. November 13th is World Kindness Day! Today, people around the world are encouraged to look for ways to make kindness the norm in their daily life. We invite you to join us in showing kindness to NC4K Families today by checking out some of the ideas below! 1) Send a text to a childhood cancer family in your life letting them know you’re thinking about them. 2) Share a post on social media about why you’re a Champion for NC4K Families or one of your favorite memories from an NC4K event. 3) Volunteer at one of our upcoming holiday events like our Reindeer Games Holiday Party or Reindeer Run at?nc4k.org/volunteer. 4) Give 13 dollars today to make a meaningful impact in the life of an NC4K Hero at?give.nc4k.org. OR: 5) Adopt an NC4K Family and make sure they receive their wish list items for the holiday season. Out of all the families who signed up to be adopted this year, only 50% have been matched with a donor. Can you help us reach 100%? Sign up to adopt a family today at?nc4k.org/holiday.

Happy Halloween from all of us at NC4K! To celebrate, we hosted one of our signature Events for Play, our annual Trunk-or-Treat event! Families in attendance were able to visit trunks decorated in different themes, enjoy pumpkin painting, raffles, snacks, dancing, and visits from dogs from 4 Paws For Ability Inc, Crew Cat from the Columbus Crew, and City of Columbus ~ Division of Police, and take home some items from our warehouse! We would like to extend a huge thank you to Tansky Sawmill Toyota for hosting this event again and for your continual support in ensuring No Kid Fights Cancer Alone.

This December, it will have been exactly ten years since Katy Titchell was diagnosed with cancer, right in the middle of her senior year of high school. Now, as a 28-year-old, Katy works as a registered veterinary technician at a small animal hospital in Pickerington. If you were at the Pure Imagination Fashion Show on October 5, you may have seen Katy in the traditional Hero Walk at the end of the show. We sat down with Katy to hear her perspective on the Fashion Show, how it’s changed, and why she continues to participate ten years after her cancer diagnosis.
