Today I had the honor of attending our first PPO Basic Training graduation for 2025, and welcoming my first class of Probation Officers to the Department. These new Officers have the drive and determination to get things done, and to be a huge asset to both the Department and their communities. I am so excited to see what they can do! Thank you to our training team and to Samarcand Training Academy for hosting us. And a special thank you to Judge Jonathan Perry for administering the oath to our new team members. No mortarboards were tossed, but tails wagged exuberantly as the latest class of #servicedog graduates were paired with their new humans at Orange Correctional Center! Men serving their sentences at #NCDAC's Caswell, Warren and Orange Correctional Institutions spent nearly two years training the dogs to assist people with medical needs, neurological conditions or mobility limitations. #TeamNCDAC coordinates with community partners At Both Ends of the Leash and Eyes Ears Nose & Paws to provide this life-changing program. Hiddenite Elementary School Principal Amy Daigle and some of her students placed a sign at the entrance to #NCDAC's Alexander Correctional this week, to thank the facility's staff and the members of its "Offender Men's Club" for their generous support of Alexander County schools over the years!
