At NBME, we believe programs that empower medical learners with actionable data and feedback can enhance learning outcomes and ultimately improve patient care. The American Medical Association has an exciting new initiative,?Transforming Lifelong Learning through Precision Education, which supports programs that address the unique needs of each learner across the medical education continuum. The initiative includes a new?four-year, $12M grant program made up of ten $1.1M+ grants?to support institutions that are developing precision education across the medical education continuum. In collaboration with Association of STEMM Pathway and Bridge Programs (ASPBP), we've awarded a total of $350,000 in different grants to 12 programs! ??Our Pathway Program Grants support our goal of improving patient care through quality assessment of medical professionals. Reliability and validity are important concepts when it comes to the quality of an assessment. We have a new type of #workshop that goes over the importance of identifying the intended purpose and use of an assessment, how an assessment’s intended purpose and use relate to the validity of its test scores, and why score reliability is critical in supporting the claims and inference we make about examinees. ??The next Introduction to Measurement Concepts: Validity and Reliability workshop is March 3, 2025.
