NBHP is immensely proud to be able to engage in policy and advocate at the county, city, and state levels for change in behavioral health care in Texas. During the 88th Texas Legislative Session, NBHP helped pass HB 12, which expanded Medicaid coverage for post-partum women from 6 weeks to 12-months, greatly increasing access to and duration of care for Texas mothers. There is always more work to be done, and NBHP is looking forward to engaging further during the 89th Legislative Session starting in January, 2025.
