NBGA represents MN & ND's 2400+ dry bean growers, North America’s largest group of edible dry bean growers
关于我们
Northarvest Bean Growers Association (NBGA) represents the largest group of dry bean farmers in America, working together to fund research, promote, and produce the finest beans in the world. NBGA advocates for the approximately 2,400 dry-edible bean farmers from North Dakota & Minnesota - the Northarvest region - which is North America’s largest supplier of quality edible dry beans. NBGA works to better the dry bean industry through promotion, field & nutrition research, market development, monitoring governmental policy, advocating for greater consumer choices, and focusing on the needs of our producers. Northarvest also oversees "Bean Institute," a website & social channel to better educate consumers while also promoting the inclusion of beans into healthy diets.

Bridge2Food North America is here!?? I could talk about all the great conversations I’ve already seen happening, the great content presented yesterday at the Course, the amazing workshops at Bühler Group Food Application Center, or the cool venues hosting us this year (such as the Mill City Museum last night)… But I’m going to acknowledge the ?B2F content team? specifically, who’s worked very hard both in the previous months and days preceding the event: Marnie Hewat is our Community Manager bringing together our global EcoSystem every two weeks and using her technical knowledge to build stakeholder boards for our research projects, where I have the pleasure to work too. Charlotte Neher, Program Manager, a cornerstone of Bridge2Food and the ‘oldest’ team member who builds and coordinates the programs of all our events and makes sure every speaker is in the room and ready to share relevant content for our event. ????♀? And there’s me working upstream on insights and being on a constant quest to find who can best speak to a certain topic, which involves reading a lot of reports, news pieces and having a lot of conversations with leaders in this industry to make sure that what we bring on stage is relevant. I’m beyond excited to be here and had a lot of fun in 2024 working on this event! I look forward to meeting everyone in the next two days and already can’t wait for next year’s edition here in Minneapolis in October! #B2FSummits #AltProtein #FoodInnovation

Have you heard about slow-darkening pinto beans? I have been really intrigued by what I have learned about slow-darkening pinto beans over the last couple of years, from bean breeders and researchers like Juan M. Osorno, Ray Glahn, and Carlos Urrea. I wrote about some of the benefits of slow-darkening pinto beans in the most recent Northarvest Bean Growers Association monthly e-newsletter (September 2024). You can sign up for their fantastic newsletter and find past ones here! https://lnkd.in/gj6jrbGi That inspired me to write a post about slow-darkening pinto beans, to elaborate a bit upon what I wrote in the NBGA newsletter. This short read: - Answers the question of what slow-darkening pinto beans are - Shares a promising nutritional benefit of slow-darkening pinto beans - Lists other benefits of these pinto beans, including faster cooking times - And more You can find the post here: https://lnkd.in/g_aw59GE #Beans #PintoBeans #Pulses #BeansIsHow

Northarvest would like to thank this crew (and many more not pictured) for their work hosting the recent Anderson Farms field day. Many area #drybean farmers made the trek to Belgrade, MN to learn more about what's happening in the bean world. It was a jam-packed day featuring domestic and international market reports, research updates, AFREC activity, a combine clinic, a field tour, sit down for a group lunch, and talk ag. NBGA would like to thank all involved and we'll start off highlighting the event's sponsors by thanking these gentlemen for their efforts on behalf of bean growers.
