Empowering women in construction through professional development, education, networking, and leadership opportunities.
关于我们
Founded in Fort Worth, TX, in 1953, Women in Construction was organized to create a support network for women working in the industry. The organization gained national recognition in 1955 with the charter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) (https://nawic.org/) Today, NAWIC has over 115 chapters nationwide. The Vermont Chapter 395 was chartered on December 5, 2023, and currently has over 35 members. NAWIC Chapter 395 will work to provide a more inclusive and empowering construction industry in Vermont. We will provide professional development, education, networking, and leadership opportunities. We will advocate for the value and impact women bring to the industry.

Women in Construction (WIC) Week is a time to acknowledge the achievements, contributions, and challenges faced by women in the construction industry. It aims to empower women to achieve greater success in the industry and to highlight the opportunities available to them. The week serves as a platform to promote the increasing presence of women in construction and to make the industry more inclusive. The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) initiated WIC Week. The 2025 theme, "Together We Rise," acknowledges the strength and knowledge of women and their vital role in shaping the future of the construction sector. Sarah Mearhoff (Director of Advocacy and Communications at the AGC/VT), alongside Board Members, celebrated Women in Construction Week.

That’s a wrap on Women in Construction Week 2025! Together We Rise. This year’s WIC Week (founded by National Association of Women in Construction) was a huge success. NAWIC Vermont 395 hosted an inspiring equity workshop, engaging socials, and an eye-opening job site tour. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with both women and men in the industry, share experiences, and celebrate the incredible women paving the way for the next generation of construction professionals. A big THANK YOU to everyone who supported our cause and participated in the events. We hope you enjoyed connecting, learning, and growing together. Thank you to our sponsors, Vermont Works for Women, VHV Company, Kelley Bros. LLC, and Farrington Construction Management for the site tour. Here’s to breaking barriers and building a brighter future in construction! #WICWeek2025 #WomenInConstruction #BuildingTheFuture #BreakingBarriers #TogetherWeRise
