Today, we celebrate the incredible life of Lynne MacVean, a trailblazer, mentor, and dear friend to so many in the National Association of Women in Construction community and beyond. For over 30 years, Lynne was a driving force in supporting and empowering women in construction, holding leadership roles at the chapter, regional, and national levels. Her dedication to NAWIC Orange County, her commitment to Thomas House Family Shelter, and her unwavering support for women in non-traditional careers made a lasting impact. Lynne’s kindness, leadership, and passion touched countless lives, and her legacy will continue to inspire us. To honor her memory, donations can be made to the Lynne MacVean Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Future Construction Leaders Foundation: https://lnkd.in/ebQ_prR. Last night, history was made as NAWIC Inland Empire Chapter #397 celebrated its official chartering and board installation! ?? After many years, this chapter has reached an incredible milestone, opening new doors for women in construction to connect, lead, and inspire. A huge congratulations to Mayra Aceves, MBA, the newly installed President, and the entire board for stepping up to lead this chapter. We had an amazing turnout last night at our WIC Week Day #3 Speed Networking event. NAWIC Orange County and NAWIC LA Chapter #42 along with 100+ attendees came together to learn, connect, and inspire each other! ?? Our networking sessions gave attendees the opportunity to rotate through expert-led stations covering key industry topics such as HR & Mentorship, Construction Law, Safety, Equipment, Trench, & AI, Business Development, and NAWIC membership. ?? Each stop sparked powerful discussions, new connections, and fresh insights on how we can all work together to make a lasting impact in our industry! ?? We also took a special moment to honor our NAWIC sister Lynne MacVean, with a heartfelt tribute by Janice Ramsay. Lynne’s legacy continues to inspire us through the Lynne McVean Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will support aspiring professionals pursuing a career in the electrical trade. You can contribute to this wonderful cause by clicking the link below. ?? ??https://lnkd.in/gqgSQjh A huge thank you to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. for sponsoring this event, and to Councilwoman Robyn Grant who gave us a warm welcome to Newport Beach and shared insights on three major projects shaping the city's future. ?? To everyone who participated in making this event a success, NAWIC Orange County thanks you! We will continue our WIC Week festivities tomorrow for the Inland Empire Chartering event at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Riverside. ?? #WICWeek2025 #NAWIC ##NAWICOC #NAWICLA #WomenInConstruction #Networking #Mentorship #Connections #HonoringLynne Liv Hanlon Dianne Koehle Janice Ramsay Lisa Thibodeaux, MBA, MA Ed, CIT, CDT Carolina Alvarez Bailee Bearden Ivette Kincaid Cherise Rader, MS Narda Reyes Marjorie Del Toro Stephani Valdez Connie Brown Kaitlyn Eaton

What an incredible Day 2 of WIC Week 2025! NAWIC Orange County and NAWIC LA Chapter #42, came together with over 200 women and allies at City Club LA to dive into one of the most impactful topics in the construction industry, Mentorship. ?? We kicked off the event with a delicious luncheon and some networking to set the stage for a powerful afternoon. Our PSW Region Director, Kaitlyn Eaton, Sr. Implementation Specialist at Big-D Construction, opened the event with an inspiring message. ??♀? Mike Aparicio, Senior Vice President of Skanska West Coast, followed by delivering an impactful keynote, sharing his experiences on mentorship, leadership, and the importance of lifting others as we rise. ?? A powerhouse panel of industry leaders dove into real-life experiences, advice, and strategies for effective mentorship. Moderated by Talin Astourian Espinoza, this conversation left us with actionable takeaways on how mentorship can shape careers and build stronger teams. Thank you to our panelists, Priscilla Chavez, Jaimie Turner, Mary Teichert, Peter Tateishi, and our very own NAWIC Orange County President, Liv Hanlon for such an insightful conversation. ?? We concluded the event with a meaningful silent auction featuring nine beautiful WIC necklaces, generously donated by a fellow NAWIC sister from the East Coast. The proceeds went toward supporting Talin Astourian Espinoza and her family, who tragically lost their home in the recent Los Angeles fires. The outpouring of generosity from our NAWIC community was truly moving and a testament to the power of women lifting each other up. ?? A huge thank you to all our speakers, panelists, and attendees for making Day 2 a success! Let’s continue to build each other up, create opportunities, and lead with mentorship. We are excited to see you tomorrow at McCarthy Building Companies for our Speed Networking event! #WICWeek2025 #NAWIC #WomenInConstruction #MentorshipMatters #NAWICOC #NAWICLA #TogetherWeRise Liv Hanlon Dianne Koehle Janice Ramsay Lisa Thibodeaux, MBA, MA Ed, CIT, CDT Carolina Alvarez Bailee Bearden Ivette Kincaid Cherise Rader, MS Narda Reyes Marjorie Del Toro
