NAWIC Northwest Arkansas provides members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, and public service. NAWIC advocates for the value and impact of women builders, professionals and tradeswomen in all aspects of the construction industry. NORTHWEST ARKANSAS CHAPTER #384 of the National Association of Women in Construction ::HISTORY OF NAWIC:: The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. Sixteen women working in the construction industry founded it in 1953. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction. We had an incredible time building a playhouse for the Camp 479 fundraiser at NWACC this afternoon. A huge thanks to our sponsor, Riggs Cat, and to NWACC for making this event possible during WIC Week. We had the wonderful opportunity to attend the ABC breakfast with the executives this morning! A huge thanks to ABC for allowing us NAWIC women to participate in this event for WIC week. Don't forget, this afternoon we have the "Build with Her" event at Northwest Arkansas Community College from 3-5pm. We will be assisting the students at NWACC in finishing the construction of a playhouse. This playhouse will be auctioned off at the Camp 479 fundraising event hosted by the local chapter of the Girl Scouts of America, with all proceeds going back to local Girl Scouts chapters.

Join us next Wednesday to celebrate WIC Week! We will be helping the students?at NWACC finish up construction of a play house! The play house is being built for auction at the Camp 479 fundraising event hosted by the local chapter Girl Scouts of America. All proceeds will be returned to local Girl Scouts Chapters.
