Promoting and supporting the advancement and employment of women in the construction industry in Los Angeles since 1961.
关于我们
In 1961, Chapter #42 was formed with 12 members in Los Angeles. The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. Sixteen women working in the construction industry founded it in 1953. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction. Today, NAWIC provides its members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service and more. NAWIC has a diverse membership and more than 150 chapters, with chapters in almost every U.S. state. Since 1996, NAWIC has seen its Core Purpose grow worldwide and has International Affiliation Agreements with the Canadian Association of Women in Construction, NAWIC-Australia, NAWIC-New Zealand, NAWIC-United Kingdom and South African Women in Construction. In NAWIC’s 58 years of service to its membership, the Association has advanced the causes of all women in construction, from tradeswomen to business owners. We exist to enhance the success of women in the construction industry. Our Values: Believe. Persevere. Dare.

Safetyvibe wrapped up Women in Construction Week strong at the National Association of Women in Constructions First Annual Golf & Charity Event! We spent a beautiful day in Huntington Beach, raising funds for the NAWIC scholarship program—empowering women to advance their careers in construction. From familiar faces to new connections, it was a fantastic way to celebrate the hardworking women shaping the industry. NAWIC LA Chapter #42#42#42#42#42#42 NAWIC Orange County Today was proof that women don’t just show up—they show out on the golf course, on job sites, and in their communities. While Women in Construction Week may be over, Women’s History Month continues, and so does the impact of women’s dedication, innovation, and leadership in construction all year long. #Safetyvibe #NAWIC #WomenInConstruction #WIC

WiC Week was a blast and thoroughly celebrated here at Webcor, with many opportunities companywide to participate in meaningful activities and engagements celebrating our colleagues, collaborators and clients! NAWIC LA Chapter #42 #whyWebcor #WomeninConstruction
That's a wrap on Women in Construction Week (WiC Week)! Huge thanks to Women of Webcor and BuildHERs for organizing a fantastic week of events in San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles to honor the incredible women in our industry. Webcorians celebrated with WiC Week luncheons and happy hours and gained valuable insights from a panel discussion with Tradeswomen Inc. at the Biosolids Digester Facilities Project and an in-depth interview with former Los Angeles World Airports CEO/KDG Construction founder Lydia Kennard at LAX (an event organized by Women Building Airports). Several Webcorians also visited California State Polytechnic University-Pomona to share resume writing and interview tips/strategies with the university's Women in Science & Engineering (WiSE) program, a gratifying opportunity to continue championing the next generation of women in architecture/engineering/construction (AEC)! #WhyWebcor
