NAWIC Hawaii Chapter 114

Mahalo to everyone who attended our NAWIC Hawaii Chapter 114 November GMM + ThanksGIVING BACK! ???Makaha Learning Center, President, Danielle Irwin is truly an inspiration. The @makaha.learning.center, a native 501(c)3 non-profit, primary mission is to create opportunities for Native Hawaiians and the people of the Waianae Coast through leadership, trades-training and outreach programs. They are fully funded, accredited and have different trade programs to obtain certifications. NAWIC Hawaii hosted a tool drive to benefit The Makaha Learning Center and were able to donate tools, gift cards, cash/checks valued at almost $6,000! This is a time to give back and helping offset the first out of pocket cost for these students can make or break them pursuing their dreams. We want to thank our guest speaker, Danielle Irwin, Marites Clades, Amber Pakele, and Jammie Wong of Norman S. Wright Mechanical for allowing us to host our GMM at their beautiful training facility, our PDE committee for planning an awesome event and of course our members and guests for supporting our tool drive and making the trek to the West side of the island. ??

Mahalo to everyone who kicked off the 2024-2025 fiscal year with us at NAWIC Hawai’i Chapter 114 October GMM + Committee Drive! It was great hearing from each committee as they shared why we should get involved and what they need support with. The passion, energy and enthusiasm that filled the room was truly inspiring! It takes a village to make this organization run and we NEED your help! IN ADDITION: Each year, we host the Salvation Army Family Treatment Services Gift Giving + Party! We set up the giving tree last night, if you chose an ornament - please purchase a gift between $20-$30 (mothers and their children: ages newborn to 12 yrs depending on what ornament you chose). Bring your unwrapped gift to the Holiday Event - Western Wonderland on Dec. 12 at AAHII. We will gather volunteers on Dec. 18 to wrap those gifts and host a party/celebration on Dec. 20 for the mothers and children with food, fun + games! *Stay tuned, flyer to follow soon! We celebrated 16 "women-in" organizations in Hawaii and listened to amazing speakers about their passion and what they stand for. The energy in the room with over 100+ mana wahine (and a few men) was amazing! There was such great networking, cross pollinating, connecting, reconnecting, and so many good laughs were had! We built on the foundation of our inaugural event last year which was chaired by Amy Bentz, Mary Kutscherenko Mary de la Torre.
