Meet Jesse James Llamas, an Operations Analyst at NAVSEA, where he has proudly served for over nine years. Jesse’s journey with NAVSEA is deeply rooted in his passion for supporting military personnel, a commitment that began during his own time as a military service member. ? A Passion for Service and Camaraderie As a medically retired Army veteran with multiple deployments, including one in Iraq and two in Afghanistan, Jesse is no stranger to challenges. After being injured during his third deployment in 2007, he received a Purple Heart and transitioned to civilian life. Jesse’s military experience and his desire to continue serving his fellow service members led him to NAVSEA. ? Making an Impact through Technology and Innovation Jesse’s work at the Reserve Programs Office has a direct impact on improving collaboration within the Reserve Community. By developing SharePoint sites, providing insightful metrics, and implementing automation, Jesse streamlines processes and enhances efficiency, ultimately contributing to the success of his team and the broader mission. ? Supporting Veterans and Promoting Well-being A key aspect of Jesse’s experience at NAVSEA has been the exceptional support for his well-being. NAVSEA has played a crucial role in accommodating his needs as a double amputee, providing schedule flexibility to help maintain a healthy work-life balance. This commitment to employee well-being, along with events like NAVSEA Meet the Fleet, which allows employees to interact with sailors at duty stations, further enriches Jesse’s experience at NAVSEA. ? A Family-Oriented Environment? Jesse’s team at NAVSEA feels like family, thanks to the mix of retired military members and those who are still serving. This camaraderie creates a supportive and motivating environment, where team members work together toward common goals with open communication. ? Words of Wisdom? When asked what advice he would give to anyone considering a career at NAVSEA, Jesse encourages individuals who are passionate about making a difference to join the team. “If you’re driven and excited about working alongside military personnel, contractors, and civilians, this is a great place to grow and contribute meaningfully.” Final Thoughts?
