A new paradigm for Precision Cancer Surgery
关于我们
Navigation Sciences? is a clinical-stage company developing the NaviSci? System for the tissue conserving removal of lung cancer and other soft tissue tumors. The system integrates Augmented Reality (AR) and advanced software with surgical instruments to guide precise surgical resection by enabling for the first time, real-time in-vivo margin measurement. The system aims to improve surgical outcomes with cutting-edge technologies that – reduce recurrence risk and conserve lung function – shorten hospital length of stay and enhance surgical workflow.

The European Patent Office granted a key patent on November 6th covering Navigation Sciences’ NaviSci? System for the minimally invasive precision localization and resection of lung and other cancers with real-time surgical margin control. The patent, “System for a tissue resection margin measurement device,” is the company’s first issued under the International Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and is being validated in the U.K., France, Germany, and Switzerland (including Lichtenstein). The newly awarded patent broadly covers the system for resecting lung tumors while compensating for tissue deformation. The company has additional international and U.S. patents pending. The patents cover technology licensed from MassGeneral Brigham hospitals. Learn more by reading the attached press release. #EuropeanPatent #MassGeneralBrigham #PrecisionSurgicalResection

We are pleased to announce that Navigation Sciences has been selected to present an update on the company’s progress at LSI 2025 on March 17-21 in Monarch Beach, CA. Navigation Sciences is developing the NaviSci? System for the tissue conserving removal of lung cancer and other soft tissue tumors. The system integrates Augmented Reality (AR) and advanced software with surgical hardware to guide precise surgical resection by enabling, for the first time, real-time in-vivo measurement of the surrounding tissue in relation to the surgical instrumentation. The NaviSci System has potential to transform lung cancer surgery in the way that early-stage breast cancer surgery evolved from mastectomy to lumpectomy. With increasing detection of early-stage tumors at a point where surgical treatment may be curative and the emergence of minimally invasive surgery as the standard of care for early-stage lung cancer, the System’s capability has enormous potential to ensure resection with appropriate margins and thereby reduce recurrence risk, conserve lung function, shorten hospital stay and enhance surgical workflow. Recently, the NaviSci System was selected as a candidate by The Galien Foundation for its annual ‘Best Start Up’ award. The Prix Galien prizes, awarded since 1970, are considered the Nobel Prize in healthcare and life sciences research and development. They recognize outstanding achievements in improving the global human condition through the development of innovative drugs and other treatments. The company has completed a 25-patient clinical feasibility trial at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. It confirmed the System’s utility in providing real-time margin assessment, demonstrated it was safe and effective, and correlated the margin measurements with pathology lab findings. The company plans to complete the System’s development in preparation for an FDA submission in 2025.
