We are delighted to announce that Navigate Maternity has crafted its moonshot statement in collaboration with the American Heart Association EmPowered to Serve Program, with the invaluable assistance of Christa Chambers-Price. There comes a moment in every organization's journey when it becomes clear that it's time for a change. That moment arrived for Navigate Maternity when we realized that we needed to set an audacious goal that would push our team to strive for transformational rather than incremental change. That's where Christa Chambers-Price came in. With her experience and expertise, she helped us to create a moonshot statement that encapsulates our commitment to tackling the toughest challenges in maternal health care. Our statement is simple, yet powerful: "A mother's prenatal and postpartum experience should not be dangerous." ? Creating our moonshot statement was an amazing experience. It involved a process of deep reflection, exploration, and brainstorming. We knew that we had to set a goal that was bold enough to inspire us to push the limits of what's possible. With Christa's help, we were able to do just that. ? Our moonshot statement is more than just a slogan. It's a call to action that energizes our entire organization. It's a reminder that we should never settle for less, that we should never accept things as they are. Instead, we should always strive for a brighter future, one in which all mothers can safely and confidently navigate their prenatal and postpartum experiences. ? Christa's contribution to our organization has been priceless. Her insights, expertise, and guidance have been instrumental in shaping our Moonshot Statement and ensuring that our brand story is authentic, compelling, and impactful. Her dedication to helping us reach our goals has been exceptional, and we are thankful for her unwavering commitment to this project. ? What started as a deeply personal mission—after my own near-death experience during childbirth—has now grown into a movement to transform maternal healthcare. Meet Dr. Jacque Yates, EdD,MPH, the Patient Navigator for Navigate Maternity. She holds a Doctorate in Public Health Policy from Nebraska Methodist College and an MPH from Purdue University Global. With over a decade of experience, Jacque has been a dedicated advocate for health equity, making an impact through her work in data analysis, strategic planning, and program evaluation with organizations like the CDC Foundation and the Texas Department of State Health Services. Jacque’s leadership has strengthened maternal and child health initiatives, providing technical assistance and training to improve outcomes in underserved communities. Meet Dr. Elicia Harris, MD, FACOG, MBA, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Navigate Maternity. As a board-certified OB/GYN and current OB/GYN Hospitalist in Indianapolis, IN, Dr. Harris brings 14 years of clinical expertise to her work, including over a decade in private practice in Fort Wayne, IN. Dr. Harris is more than a dedicated physician—she’s a passionate advocate for equitable healthcare. Her commitment to reducing disparities and improving patient outcomes drives her work both in clinical settings and beyond. As Vice Chair of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) District V, she champions meaningful healthcare policy and reform. Dr. Harris earned her undergraduate degree at Purdue University before completing medical school and OB/GYN residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. Most recently, she added an MBA from the IU Kelley School of Business to her impressive credentials, combining clinical excellence with strategic leadership. Dr. Elicia Harris exemplifies what it means to be a leader in maternal health. Her unwavering dedication to her patients and her mission to tackle healthcare inequities inspire us all.

Theadora James, MHA, is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Navigate Maternity. With over 12 years of experience in project management and process improvement at managed care organizations and large hospital systems—including the VA Hospital System, Novant, and Centene—Thea brings extensive expertise in healthcare operations. Her passion for healthcare is rooted in her upbringing in Gary, Indiana, where she witnessed significant health disparities and inequities in Midwestern BIPOC communities. These experiences inspired Thea to dedicate her career to addressing these injustices and driving meaningful change in healthcare. Thea earned a B.S. in Healthcare Administration and a Business Foundations Certificate from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. She also holds a Master of Health Administration from Franklin University and a Data Analytics Certificate from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
