Building a STEM Pipeline between the Northern Neck and NSWCDD! ???? NSWCDD's STEM team partnered with the Potomac Tech Bridge to donate 15 desktop computers to the Northern Neck Technical Center Governor's STEM Academy for Agriculture and Maritime Studies in Warsaw, Virginia. Potomac Tech Bridge Director Michael Clark and NSWCDD STEM Director Tyler Truslow delivered the donation to NNTC Principal Dr. Samantha Dixon. "The Northern Neck is an incredible source of STEM talent right in our backyard, and these machines coming to NNTC will provide educational opportunities for students going into both engineering-degree programs and career technical-education paths," said Truslow. "You never know where the Navy's next big innovation might come from, and we're always looking for top STEM talent, so supporting students across the full spectrum of those career paths is critical." #STEM #USNavy #northernneck #nofear Navy STEM Program

?????Focused on the Fight - ASNE Panel! “We are squarely focused on our technical excellence, being product-focused and mission-driven to support the Fleet,” said NSWCDD Dale Sisson Jr., P.E., SES. Our panel focused on how the Warfare Center enterprise, including NSWCDD, is working with the Fleet to rapidly address their needs and requirements. Sisson provided an in-depth look at NSWCDD’s portfolio, highlighting our Technical Thrust areas and how the rigor we apply daily aligns with Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti’s 5x4 in NavPlan2024. This alignment ensures we are ready to meet current and future demands, driving RDTE efforts and continuously supporting the Fleet. Dr. James Keener, SL, USN, Director Surface Warfare Area, explained this process sometimes involves revisiting past experiments and prototypes that may not have been viable when initially developed. However, with advances in technology, these once-unfeasible solutions may now hold the key to meeting current challenges for the Fleet. NSWCDD's Brandon Hayes, Senior Scientific Technical Manager for Naval Integrated Fire Control, addressed how NSWCDD is applying RDT&E to enhancing the Navy's long-range fires capability and capacity, a focus area highlighted in the latest NavPlan2024. The work they're doing is going to increase survivability and lethality for the Fleet and is in keeping with our mission to develop and deliver weapon systems to deter and defeat our adversaries. Thank you to the American Society of Naval Engineers Symposium for having us! #NavPlan2024 #Support #Innovation #TechnicalExcellence #Mission Office of Naval Research NAVSEA Warfare Centers (NSWC/NUWC) Dale Sisson, P.E. More than eight decades ago, a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor claimed the lives of 2,403 people. At the time, an estimated 102 ships were stationed at the harbor; 26 were damaged, and seven were sunk completely. The USS Arizona rests submerged at Pearl Harbor and continues to leak droplets of oil, known as “black tears”—a haunting reminder of the lasting impact this tragic event has had on our country. Today, on National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor the brave individuals who sacrificed everything in service to our country and freedom. This kind of courage is admirable and continues to drive Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division to excel in its mission. #nswcdd #pearlharbor #ussarizona #wwii #USNavy #PearlHarborRemembranceDay
