关于我们
The Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, or Naval Reactors, is a joint Department of Navy and Department of Energy organization responsible for all matters pertaining to U.S. Navy nuclear propulsion. Naval Reactors' conservative design practices and stringent operating procedures have resulted in the demonstrated safety record of naval nuclear propulsion plants. The mission of the Naval Reactors, is to provide militarily effective nuclear propulsion plants and ensure their safe, reliable, and long-lived operation. This mission requires the combination of fully trained U.S. Navy men and women with ships that excel in endurance, stealth, speed, and independence from logistics supply chains. Naval Reactors organic statute, 50 U.S.C. §§ 2406, 2511, codifying Presidential Executive Order 12344 set forth the total responsibility of Naval Reactors for all aspects of the Navy's nuclear propulsion, including research, design, construction, testing, operation, maintenance, and ultimate disposition of naval nuclear propulsion plants. The Program's responsibility includes all related facilities, radiological controls, environmental safety, and health matters, as well as selection, training, and assignment of personnel. All of this work is accomplished by a lean network of dedicated research laboratories, nuclear-capable shipyards, equipment contractors and suppliers, and training facilities that are centrally controlled by a small headquarters staff. In alignment with Department of Defense Instruction 5400.17 and recent Executive Orders, certain posts have been removed to maintain consistency with federal guidance and uphold the integrity of our official communication channels.

#peoplegetthingsdone It’s rare to find a naval officer with experience in two allied navies, let alone three. But for Royal Australian Navy Capt. Stephen Hussey, currently assigned to the AUKUS Integration & Acquisition program in Washington, D.C., a 50-year career spanning the British Royal Navy, the Royal Australian Navy, and multiple U.S. Navy exchanges has uniquely positioned him to embody the spirit of AUKUS—the enhanced trilateral security partnership between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States designed to bolster regional security in the Indo-Pacific. #AUKUS | #nuclearfleet | #stewardship Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eYs_r6NM

Recently, USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), Navy Recruiting Command and Naval Reactors had the opportunity to host an Educator Orientation Visit. The visit aboard Theodore Roosevelt provided teachers and education professionals a first-hand look at the incredible Sailors and warships that make up the #nuclearfleet. After showing these educators the #technicalexcellence and dedication of Theodore Roosevelt's crew, they are better prepared to help their students understand the great opportunities provided by the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program and serving in the U.S. Navy, like the Nuclear Power Officer Candidate (NUPOC) program. #peoplegetthingsdone | #harnesstheatom?
