The first of its kind retires, but the legend continues. Ahead of the Super Hornet’s 30th anniversary next year, the first ever F/A-18 E1 found a new home at the National Museum of Transportation in a joint feat by Boeing and the U.S. Navy. The F/A-18 & EA-18G Program Office Program Manager Capt. Michael Burks attended the dedication ceremony for what was one of many firsts for this aircraft. The E1 is the first Super Hornet on static display. The collaboration between the U.S. Navy and industry to get this jet back to its birthplace in St. Louis is a testament to strong partnerships that underpin one of the most successful naval aircrafts in aviation history.
The U.S. and Australian fleets are one step closer to getting the next increment of the U.S. Navy’s most advanced airborne electronic attack system with the recent contract award for the engineering and manufacturing development of Next Generation Jammer Low Band. The new system will increase the lethality of 4th and 5th gen platforms and strike weapons and counter low frequency adversary systems. Partnering with #AusAirForce, the #USNavy is putting the fog in the fog of war. The joint cooperative program allows for sharing of the best technologies in the world. https://lnkd.in/enTzG9E3

The Navy’s Unmanned Carrier Aviation Program Manager Capt. Daniel Fucito visited USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) Sept. 5 and got a firsthand look at the recently completed Unmanned Air Warfare Center (UAWC) --- the “operation center” for the MQ-25 Stingray. During his visit, he met with CVN-77’s Commanding Officer Capt. Robert Bibeau and thanked him and the ship’s crew for their partnership and dedication to delivering the world’s first operational carrier-based UAS. #MQ25
