关于我们
With less than 6% of all plastic bag waste being recycled each year, we have built our vision for a plastic-free world right into our company name. We are determined to shift the industry norm for soil packaging to be completely “naturally contained,” by creating packaging to supply to soil manufacturers that is as useful and waste-free as the soil itself. Currently at NaturallyContained we are developing compostable Coco Fiber packaging that will be supplied in place of plastic bags to soil manufacturers across North America. Coco Fiber is widely utilized as a soil amendment, enabling soil manufacturers to offer their products to garden centers, retailers, and consumers as a completely plastic free option. Our Coco Fiber containers go beyond packaging and can serve as liners in existing pots, or even function as growing pots, effectively replacing other plastics in the gardening industry.

I am thrilled to announce that NaturallyContained has graduated from the Jones + Foster Accelerator through the Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship. From entering the accelerator with a prototype to now having our packaging launch this spring in Garden Centers in the US and Canada, the J+FA Program has played a crucial role in guiding NaturallyContained's growth over the past six months. A special thanks goes to Yuko Oaku and Amy Sallin at the Buerk Center for providing us with the opportunity to be part of this year's cohort and to have had the chance to learn from our fantastic mentor committee including Brian Glaister, Yves Mizrahi, Daniel Smith, Alex Day, Kathryn Gardow, Kerra J. Melvin and Michael Manion. Through working with them we've gained such valuable insights into the best strategies for entering the market this spring and positioning ourselves for strategic growth in the future. A big shoutout goes to my team: Skyler Purwins, Morgan Golden, Amelia Weicheld, David Gloyd and Priyanka Jain for lending their expertise and helping out whenever they could, as they all juggled full class and work schedules. As well as the other teams who we were fortunate enough to learn alongside. I’d highly recommend checking out and keeping an eye on?OneCourt, NoWhere, Panyon, Joosi?Sexual Wellness, Tizana Mexicana and Moco ‘n’ Moose. These startups are not only run by fantastic individuals but are also set to make huge positive impacts in their industries. Lastly, I am excited to announce that our first customer, Cinnabar Valley Farms, will be offering their myGarden Soil in NaturallyContained packaging at the NW Flower and Garden Festival in Seattle from February 14th to 18th.

Feeling so inspired and grateful after Thursday nights pitch party! It was so nice to see and catch up with some of the incredible women I’ve been lucky to cross paths with and learn from over this past year. I am so grateful to have been connected with Maureen Sarewitz and for all of her guidance during the early early stages of NaturallyContained. I’m also super excited to watch what she is building at Trove! Thank you Christy Johnson and Kia for building such a welcoming community of women, and Molly Klein for organizing such a fun evening at Armoire. I’d highly recommend checking out Armoire if you are looking to freshen up your wardrobe in a sustainable & affordable way! I loved wearing their green blazer.
Last night, I had the privilege of attending a start-up pitch party with incredible women entrepreneurs, including Madison Heisterman, founder of NaturallyContained. She has developed soil packaging that is 100% compostable, versus the plastic packaging that's been the industry standard for decades. They are poised to disrupt a very old school, wasteful approach and I cannot wait to see (and buy!) their products. Madison and I met a year ago as part of a mentorship program run by the amazing Christy Johnson through the University of Washington's Women in Entrepreneurial Leadership program. Her business idea was extremely compelling and seeing it come to life in such a short period of time is beyond impressive. Kudos to Madison and her team for building something that is commercially viable and will have a positive impact on the planet. Thank you to Christy and Kia Davis for building an inspiring community of women entrepreneurs, and to Molly Klein who put on an extraordinary event.
