关于我们
Natural Restorations is an Arizona-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2015. Our mission is to remove trash, graffiti, and anything foreign to the environment from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas while enriching the lives of Military Veterans and other community members. Our vision is to keep natural areas clean and open to the public. We have removed over 1.7 million pounds (852+ tons) of trash and more than 46,790 square feet of graffiti painted on rock faces. We have removed & recycled over 2,200 tires and we have replanted over 81,400 cacti, plants, and trees in burn scars. We accomplish our mission by hosting volunteer events for community members, including youth volunteers. We also manage and support a Dedicated Restoration Team that completes restorations beyond the reach of most volunteers. We have provided over 19,490 hours of work in nature to military veterans on our team across over 157 projects and we've hosted over 118 volunteer events. Our Dedicated Restoration Team expands the impact of our vision by providing contract work to Veterans and working throughout the year in areas that see repeated dumping, remote areas, areas too sensitive for a large number of volunteers, as well as graffiti removal projects. There is more to our Dedicated Restoration Team than trash and graffiti removal. We provide support, socialization, and camaraderie to the Veterans on our team. We offer a community where individuals with similar experiences can engage with one another, building lifelong relationships, all while decompressing in the great outdoors. We are connecting Veterans with nature to offer moments of peace that are sometimes difficult to find. Everyone is welcome at our events! We believe that when children and adults take part in stewardship efforts, they develop a better connection to our natural areas and a deeper understanding of what it takes to preserve them.

This week, we’re shining a spotlight on the work we have accomplished with funding from National Forest Foundation that supports our Replanting Program, including replanting the 2020 Bush Fire burn scar on the Tonto National Forest with native Sonoran Desert cacti, plants & trees. ? ??? Earlier this year, our Dedicated Restoration Team had the opportunity to salvage 114 native Sonoran Desert cacti, including 47 saguaros (we even found a 4-inch saguaro), from a private property in Florence. In addition to saguaros, our team salvaged 35 hedgehog, several barrels, mammillaria, ocotillo, & cholla that we took back to our cacti nursery on the Tonto National Forest until we transported them out to the Bush Fire Burn scar at Four Peaks for replanting. ? ??? Salvaging saguaros & other native desert cacti from private properties & development sites gives us the opportunity to provide cacti, including saguaros, a with new home in the 2020 Bush Fire burn scar where they are desperately needed to restore the Sonoran Desert ecosystem. ?Salvaging cacti helps us save tens of thousands of dollars in project costs, but it does require our time & labor to dig them out of the ground with hand tools. ? ??? ? We are grateful to everyone at National Forest Foundation for helping us mobilize our Dedicated Restoration Team when there are saguaros to salvage. Thank you everyone at the US Forest Service Tonto National Forest for supporting our Replanting Program! ? ? #NFFGranteesAreGreat ? #NationalForest? #arizona? #BushFireReplanting? #NaturalRestorations?
