"Our natural areas contain 5 million of New York City's 7 million trees," said Senior Manager of External Affairs Emily Walker at last week's #PlayFair rally. "They absorb 22% of New York City stormwater, 70% of the city's carbon. We are not caring for these spaces the way they are caring for us." Our city's parks and natural areas can't take care of themselves! Parks workers are vital in keeping our green spaces clean, maintaining trails, and ensuring our local ecology is thriving. One of our main budget asks for 2025 is to restore $2.5 million in permanent, baselined funding for 51 forestry management staff that were eliminated last year. Add your voice to this cause and join us at the upcoming #PlayFair rally on Thursday: bit.ly/ParksRally317 #ParksPowerNYC #Workers
