An additional 4,000 acres of coastal wetland enhancement projects will be coming to Louisiana in the near future! Thank you to our partners on these projects.

“The ability to reduce the footprint and accomplish the same engineering objectives with about one-tenth of the weight allows us to cut down on material usage, cut down on labor, cut down on equipment,” - Natrx CEO, Leonard Nelson Huge thanks to WVUE-TV Fox 8 for the piece John Snell produced on "Cajun Coral" - our Louisiana-made ExoForms - designed by our patented Dry Forming process (not exactly 3D printing but hey, we'll take it) to tackle habitat and resilience challenges here at home and all over the world. It's rare that we get to spend this much time going into the details of how our technology works with someone as thoughtful and informed as Mr Snell. Here at Natrx, we're big fans of the awareness he's bringing to the many ways innovation is leading to real results for coastal resilience challenges. Spend a few minutes with the piece here: https://hubs.la/Q02Xwrtb0 And for more info, visit: https://hubs.la/Q02Xw7b00

Late October 2024 Update from the Port Fourchon Terraces & Living Shoreline Project in Lafourche Parish, LA. Wilson Coastal is diligently repairing Hurricane Francine damage. However, the damage would have been worse if not for the Cajun Coral Living Shoreline Modules from Natrx. Almost finished with this field near LA. 1, and moving to enhance marsh and additional ponds near the Gulf of Mexico.

Take a peek at one of our latest living shoreline collaborations: This one is at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and utilizes 564 small "Wave Slope" ExoForm units over 1,675 linear feet along with two other partner solutions: QuickReef by Native Shorelines and Oyster Catchers by Sandbar Oyster Company - all constructed by TD Eure Marine Construction and funded by the North Carolina Coastal Federation. The project will stabilize the marsh and shoreline located along Bogue Sound, provide habitat for marine organisms, and support ongoing coastal resilience. What's very cool about this one is that Eastern Carolina University will monitor the changing health of the marsh and seagrasses as oysters, fish, and other marine life begin to thrive in this new living shoreline habitat. ?? Protecting Our Coastline, One Shoreline at a Time! ?? Our team is hard at work on not one, but THREE living shoreline projects—each uniquely designed to protect and restore our precious coastal habitats. From Morehead City to Pine Knoll Shores to Cherry Point, we’re proud to participate in bringing sustainable solutions to each shoreline. Here’s what we’re up to: ?? Sugarloaf Island in Morehead City: We’re installing Wave Attenuating Devices (WADs) to reduce wave energy, providing essential protection for the shoreline while fostering habitats for marine life. ?? NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores: This project includes two incredible products, Quickreef and Natrx, designed to stabilize the shoreline and create habitats that support coastal resilience. ?? MCAS Cherry Point: We’re placing over 15,000 Tons of Class 2 Granite Rip Rap, a robust solution to armor the shoreline and prevent erosion, while allowing natural habitats to thrive. Each of these projects uses different products tailored to their environments, but they all serve the same important mission: protecting our shorelines and creating vital habitats. We’re working around the clock to bring these projects to life, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team for making it all happen simultaneously! Stay tuned for more updates on each of these exciting projects as we continue our commitment to coastal preservation and habitat restoration. ???? #LivingShorelines #CoastalConservation #ProtectOurCoast

Last month, our coastal restoration team produced and installed Cajun Coral at the new Raising Cane's Hotel Sid reef near Grand Isle. The reef is made of 10,000 square feet of Cajun Coral. Designed by technology company Natrx | Adaptive Infrastructure, Cajun Coral is a highly flexible module that promotes habitat growth and ecological benefits that strengthen over time. The reef consists of four areas and utilizes more than 500 modules to create 10,000+ square feet of living reef, in turn providing a home for all marine species up and down the food chain. Thanks to CCA Louisiana, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers for including us on this important project!
