**Save the Date: Alexa’s Charity Toy Drive and Car Show to Collect Toys for Natividad** In its third year, Alexa’s Annual Charity Toy Drive and Car Show will be held at the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex on Sunday, December 1 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Presented by Alexa Children’s Foundation and Bugs Not Dead Car Club, the event welcomes the community to enjoy a day of giving and entertainment together. Alexis Miranda and his dad run the car club and founded Alexa’s Toy Drive in honor of his little sister, who died when she was one day old in 2010. “Alexa’s Annual Charity Toy Drive and Car Show is our way of making sure that no kid ever goes without getting a gift for Christmas or their birthday because Alexa never got to experience that,” Miranda said. Participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy gift to the event to honor Alexa’s memory. The toys will be donated to Natividad for the hospital’s pediatric patients. Last year, the toy drive collected 500 toys. “It still baffles me that we got this many toys,” Miranda said. Car, truck, and bike collectors and hobbyists are invited to register for the toy drive’s car show. All are welcome! Please arrive between 9:00 and 10:30 am to set up, register and pay a $25 entry fee. The event will also feature live performances from Blanc Bandera and Barbra Ann Wagner, who have generously donated their services. Jump houses, face painting, food vendors, raffles and a special visit from Santa are also planned. “We truly appreciate everyone who contributes to bringing so much joy to our youngest patients,” said Natividad CEO Dr. Chad Harris. “This local event is special, and we are honored to be selected as a partner for this annual tradition.” For a video interview with Alexis Miranda, a wish list of toys, donors and sponsors, including Natividad Foundation, Salinas Regional Soccer Complex, Premier Valley Bank, a division of HTLF Bank, Brew Bus, Salad Shoppe, TKO Sounds Salinas, Blanc Bandera, WISE MUSIC and more, visit https://bit.ly/40xPJRF

Natividad earned an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an 'A,' 'B,' 'C,' 'D,' or 'F' grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them. "This 'A' grade in patient safety belongs to every member of our Natividad family," said CEO Dr. Chad Harris. "I'm deeply moved by the dedication and excellence our team demonstrates every day, often without fanfare or recognition. This national acknowledgment confirms what I've always known — that our staff's commitment to patient safety and quality care is second to none. The Natividad team is always focused on what matters most: providing the safest, highest-quality care to every patient who walks through our doors. I couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved together." "Achieving an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Natividad," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to Natividad, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first." The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
