  • Eating well on a budget? Not a problem! Check out this tip from Natividad's Director of Nutrition Services Joshua West, RD: "Making wholesome plant-based meals at home provides a creative outlet if you like to cook. Experimenting with spices, herbs and global cuisines can turn simple ingredients into satisfying dishes. For instance, a can of no-salt-added chickpeas costs less than $2 and can easily be transformed into hummus, falafel or curry. Chickpeas offer nearly 20 grams of protein and 5 grams of dietary fiber per half-cup serving and are low in saturated fat yet high in nutrients." • Now that we’ve shifted to daylight savings time, let’s make the most of it. Getting just 10-15 minutes of sunshine a few times a week can help your body make the vitamin D it needs. This important vitamin does so many good things for us: ? Helps keep our bones strong ? Boosts our mood ? Supports our immune system ? Helps our muscles work properly Remember, while sunlight is healthy, too much can damage your skin. Wear sunscreen if you'll be outside for longer periods, especially at midday, when the sun is strongest. How are you planning to enjoy the extra daylight? Share with us in the comments! #DaylightSavingTime #NatividadInspiringHealthyLives
