This quote comes from a resident at the Mather Veterans Village who was asked for his feedback on our Veterans Support to Self Reliance program which helps Veterans to maintain their permanent housing and improve quality of life as they age. Many Veterans enrolled in our Veterans Support to Self-Reliance programs were interviewed recently to learn about how the program improves their quality of life. ?? The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and filled with gratitude for the support from staff with mental health services, peer support, transportation services, in-home assistance, and much more. Their stories remind us of the impactful difference that supportive services and a caring community can make in the lives of those who have served our country.?? Our Veterans enjoyed a beautiful fall day at Apple Hill, filled with apple cider donuts, fishing, and lots of fun! ?? A few of our Veterans were able to catch fish out of the pond that they were able to keep and take home with them. ?? Our Mather Veteran Village has a team called VSSR (Veterans Support to Self-Reliance) which is designed to help Veterans safely age in place by providing on-site assistance with transportation, mental health, peer support, and in-home supportive services. Our Reno and Carson City teams joined forces to participate in the Veterans Day Parade in downtown Reno! They beautifully decorated a float with lots of streamers and American flags. They also put together bags of candy to pass out along the parade route.
