The National Finals of the NationBuilding Case Study Competition 2025 kicked off with incredible energy on 20th February 2025. ? India’s largest college case study competition continues to grow, inspiring young minds to shape the nation’s future in alignment with the Honourable Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat. After a record-breaking response in 2024 with 31,500+ participants from 1,800+ colleges, this year saw an even bigger impact—57,200+ students from 2,500+ colleges stepping up to tackle one of the most ambitious challenges yet: ‘Developing a roadmap for India to secure 100 medals, including 35 golds, at the 2036 Olympics.’ Over the past two months, participants have demonstrated exceptional creativity, analytical depth, and strategic acumen to contribute to this vision. The National Finals were graced by an esteemed panel of judges, each a leader in their domain: 1. Mr Adille Sumariwalla – Vice President, World Athletics Executive Board; Former President of Athletics Federation of India (AFI) and Former Acting President, Indian Olympic Association 2. Mr Sudhanshu Mittal – Former Vice President, Indian Olympic Association and President, International Kho Kho Federation of India 3. Brig Bibhu Kalyan Nayak – Director, National Centre for Sports Science & Research, Sports Authority of India Honored to have Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya (Union Minister of Labour and Employment, and Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India) join us, delivering a powerful keynote on Viksit Bharat 2047 and the role of young minds in shaping India's future. His address reinforced the importance of youth-driven innovation and strategic thinking in nation-building. Dr. Mandaviya also felicitated the winners, applauding their forward-thinking solutions. From thousands of teams, the top 12 emerged for the finals, and after a rigorous showdown, the top 3 national winners were crowned: ?? NationBuilding aims to create awareness and engage young people, especially those in their graduation years, who are ambitious about their future careers. Current trends show that today’s youth is increasingly passionate about creating a meaningful impact, rather than simply working in cubicles. However, many still opt for the typical ‘9-5 jobs’ as they appear to be the safest and easiest options. Given India’s demographic advantage and its aspirational vision for 2047, it’s critical to guide this passion towards nation-building. The concept of Nation Building often seems vague, especially in terms of practical ways to contribute. This discussion aims to clarify that the concept is fundamentally rooted in the small actions individuals take daily. It is also the cumulative impact of these numerous individual efforts that collectively drive towards national progress. In the 1990s, software engineering was pursued as part of the ‘American Dream,’ but today, the focus has shifted to startup culture. Traditionally, nation-building careers have been tied to roles in bureaucracy, the armed forces, or government. Thus, we are here to explore how Nation Building reaches far beyond these areas, addressing the barriers to entry, the challenges of taking on this responsibility and identifying pathways for young professionals to make impactful contributions.
