Despite being original inhabitants and stewards of this land, Native women have never been compensated for the full value of their labor in the U.S. workforce, and this inequity persists today. In 2023, Native women working full time, year-round were typically paid only 58 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men. This gap results in Native women losing $2,505 every month or $30,055 every year. Without closing the wage gap, a Native woman entering the workforce today could lose more than $1.2 million over her career. If a Native woman and a white, non-Hispanic man both start work at 20, the wage gap means she’d have to work until age 89 — 20 years past her life expectancy — to be paid what a white, non-Hispanic man was paid by age 60. It's time to close the wage gap for Native women and ensure they are paid what they deserve. The fight for equality can’t wait another year — Native women and their communities deserve justice now. #NativeWomensEqualPay

We're grieving with you. We're angry. But we're resolved. Our work is clear: We need to keep our communities strong, and we need to keep each other safe. The cowardice, hatred, and fear of losing power that got us here is an undeniable threat. The preview of what these people want for the future is disturbing. But we are not going anywhere. The millions of people who voted to protect abortion, to elect women and LGBTQ people, and to protect our rights are not going anywhere. We will not cede ground. We've been here before. We know how to fight. We'll do it together.
