The only facility of its kind in the US, the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory is the largest and highest-powered magnet laboratory in the world. Headquartered in a sprawling 370,000-square-foot complex at Florida State University in Tallahassee, the lab also includes sites at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico and the University of Florida in Gainesville. Together these three institutions operate the lab, collaborating in a unique, interdisciplinary way to advance basic science, engineering and technology in the 21st century.

New Paper Alert! ?? Excited to share our latest publication, where we combine high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with 21T Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) to advance the molecular characterization of wood pyrolysis bio-oils. ?? Key Highlights: ? Identified thousands of additional molecular formulas compared to direct infusion FT-ICR MS. ? Revealed isomeric diversity through single ion chromatograms, showing distinct elution patterns for identical molecular formulas. ? Used PyC2MC for advanced data processing, uncovering compositional trends linked to bio-oil solubility and reactivity. This study provides detailed insights into oxygen-rich bio-oil species, bridging the gap between molecular composition and real-world applications in renewable energy.
