Today, we remember Richard Cohen, a profound voice in the caregiving and chronic illness community. As the keynote speaker at the 2004 National Caregivers Conference, Richard inspired us with his courage and honesty, sharing insights from his book Blindsided: Lifting a Life Above Illness. Through his reflections on living with MS, navigating family life, and finding resilience in the face of challenges, he showed us the redemptive power of love and connection. Our thoughts are with his family, including his beloved wife, Meredith Vieira.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a week since NCC 2024—what a powerful and insightful weekend at the National Caregivers Conference! The event brought together moving stories and essential strategies to elevate our caregiving journeys. The day began with an inspiring keynote from John Crowley, followed by seven dynamic breakout sessions exploring key topics like Veterans’ Caregiving, Caregiver Self-Care, Family Dynamics, and Community Support. Attendees dove into practical strategies, shared insights, and connected with leaders across the caregiving industry. An interactive samba stretch break energized everyone before the afternoon panel, where five expert panelists discussed disability, aging, and policy.
