Last week, A.P. Moller - Maersk announced about the successful completion of the ?first trial shipment from Japan to Europe via the Middle Corridor. This week, could not think the better timing and place to present alongside with my colleagues Vasil Shengelia MBA, FRM and David Bochorishvili, FRM a key pillar of our recently developed National FinTech Development Strategy in close collaboration with The World Bank, at the GFTN Forum Japan where the main topic of this year's forum was "building the Financial Corridors". Financial connectivity in the region has potential to not only catch up with the ongoing positive trend in trade and investment connectivity but thanks to Disruptive nature of the Underlying?New Financial Architecture to even accelerate the growth in cross-border cooperation. The use-cases which we've presented at the forum ranged from a cross-border open banking for Account Opening via e-KYC API to cross -border regulatory sandbox. National Bank of Georgia's fintech team participated in the forum along with Mr. Teimuraz Lezhava, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia in Japan and Mr. Salim Dhanani, CEO and founder of the digital bank "Pave Georgia".
