NYEC had the privilege of joining TYP Collaborative's CCRY convening, where stakeholders gathered to share strategies and actionable plans aimed at uplifting policies and initiatives that will support opportunity youth (OY) as the new Congress convenes. The discussions highlighted collaborative efforts and innovative solutions that focus on driving impactful change for youth across the nation. NYEC's Nathan Hora had the opportunity share in these important conversations ensuring that the voices of opportunity youth are at the forefront of policy-making.

  • It is a busy fall here at NYEC - This week our Executive Director, Mary Ann (Mimi) Haley, had the esteemed pleasure of serving on a panel "?Building Skills and Mindsets for Workforce Success" at the National Summer Learning Association summit. Discussion on stage brought together leaders from the corporate, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial sectors to explore how summer programs can be powerful platforms for developing critical workforce skills. Mimi was honored to speak alongside Jon Fortt, CNBC Anchor, Phil Libin, CEO of mmhmm, Stephanie Ruiz Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, and Tom Smith, CEO, VE International. It was also an honor to hear from Senator Chris Murphy, Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona, José Mu?oz, head of the Education Commission of the States and incredible performance from Leslie Odem Junior! It was also wonderful to see familiar faces including Erin Offord and Byron K. Sanders. Thanks to the many others included below not tagged! A great time was had by all.
