Quit raccooning around ?? On land, raccoons lumber around on all four paws like a bear. But, unlike bears, they don't hibernate in winter (although they do pack on extra body fat in the fall to prepare for winter). Raccoons are primarily nocturnal mammals that live throughout much of America in wooded areas and big cities. Their favorite foods on land include fruits, seeds, nuts, birds' eggs, and plants. They are very opportunistic eaters. In cities, they can even be seen seeking scraps of food in all kinds of places, including from garbage bins, giving them the nickname, "trash pandas." Despite the reputation, they are also excellent swimmers and can hunt frogs, fish, and even crayfish. #wildlife #alphabet #raccoon #nature #funfacts #wild
