Advocating on behalf of whistleblowers since 1988.

关于我们

The National Whistleblower Center (NWC), a non-profit, tax-exempt, non-partisan organization, is the leading whistleblower legal advocacy organization with a 35-year history of protecting the right of individuals to report wrongdoing without fear of retaliation. Since 1988, we have provided services and advocacy on behalf of whistleblowers. Currently some of our programs are: Grassroots Advocacy: Through the NWC Action Alert Network, we are improving protections and standing up for the brave individuals who report waste, fraud, and abuse. Sign up to receive periodic updates and calls to action. Follow the NWC on Facebook and Twitter and be the first to get news on the NWC's grassroots campaigns. Legal Advocacy: Attorneys affiliated with the NWC have written and filed numerous Amicus Curiae briefs in precedent-setting cases around the country. Click this link to review the Amicus Curiae briefs submitted on behalf of whistleblowers. Legal Assistance: The National Whistleblower Legal Defense and Education Fund’s (NWLDEF) Whistleblower Legal Assistance Program is very simple—we match whistleblowers with lawyers who are interested in representing whistleblowers. Expanding Whistleblower Rights: The National Whistleblower Center has played a key role in drafting and supporting major whistleblower legislation such as the Dodd-Frank Act, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act. The NWC is actively involved in opposing efforts to weaken existing laws and pushing for strengthening whistleblowers laws in the area of wildlife whistleblowers, international whistleblowers and pushing for an official National Whistleblower Day.

A note from National Whistleblower Center’s Executive Director: This is Siri Turner, and I am posting to inform NWC supporters that February 28, 2025, will be my final day as the Executive Director of the National Whistleblower Center. Serving this incredible organization has been incredibly meaningful and empowering work. Through my role at NWC, I have been able to connect with whistleblowers and whistleblower advocates around the world. I have also been able to steward a team of fantastic whistleblower advocates to advance whistleblower rights, build coalitions, and inform the public. My work at NWC has been the most important part of my life for years. However, due to personal reasons, it is now time for me to shift focus. In addition to leaving NWC, I will step away from professional life for the foreseeable future. As a policy advocate and a lawyer, I am exiting at one of the most opportunity rich moments in recent history. So many legal questions are being raised, and there is so much to be done for whistleblowers. I am confident that NWC’s Board Chairman, Stephen Kohn, will continue to lead NWC’s work at the forefront of these crucial legal issues. I have complete faith in the team’s ability to carry out NWC’s important work. I’m deeply grateful to NWC’s Board of Directors, who entrusted me with this role and have been unwavering in their support throughout my time at NWC. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to all whistleblowers who have crossed my path during my tenure. Your courage and commitment have been the driving force behind everything the NWC accomplished under my leadership. To the lawyers in NWC’s Legal Assistance Program, your dedication to providing legal assistance to whistleblowers is commendable.??I also want to acknowledge the staffers on Capitol Hill who have facilitated our meetings which have been invaluable in our mission to make an impact on behalf of whistleblowers. Further, the to all of the journalists who have invited me to chime on whistleblower issues, thank you for amplifying NWC’s work.??And, finally, thank you to all my colleagues in whistleblower advocacy and anti-corruption efforts, both domestic and international – your collaboration has been instrumental, and I hope it will continue with NWC. NWC's work is more important than ever, and we need your support. Please consider donating today to help us continue our mission (https://lnkd.in/eiX3Nkxv). Thank you for a great experience, Siri Turner?

  • In an unprecedented decision, the White House has issued the immediate termination of Special Counsel Hampton Dellinger. The Special Counsel may only be removed by the President for "inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office," none of which were cited by the White House. Dellinger is fighting the termination in court. This unjustified decision violates the independence of the OSC, the office charged with investigating fraud, waste, and abuse in the federal government, and protecting the federal whistleblowers who speak out against wrongdoing. We urge our supporters to contact their Representatives and Senators today to take action against this wrongful termination. Read our full press release here: https://ow.ly/WeiH50UXaoA

  • Over 1,400 of our supporters took a stand with us, sending over 6,000 letters to Senators, Representatives, and the White House to demand that the emergency funding solution for the CFTC Whistleblower Office be included in the December Continuing Resolution. Our voices were heard, and Congress did just that. But this solution to set to expire in March. We need your help to secure a permanent funding solution! Join us in taking action again to urge for the passage of the bipartisan CFTC Whistleblower Fund Improvement Act of 2023.
