After 2.5 years of work NTBA member Land Innovations is breaking ground on their Nolensville Town Square project!

Did you know that several NTBA members were the winners of the Urban Guild Design Exploration Merit Award for their ADU project? NTBA members DPZ CoDESIGN and New Amherst Homes, along with 21st Century Home, won this award for their work on the C.I.E.R.S. Log ADU, which was exhibited at the 2024 Innovative Housing Showcase managed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Policy Development and Research.

Congratulations to NTBA member Rob Parker! Town at Trilith won big at this year’s Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association OBIE awards, bringing home a total of 11 wins!

Also winning big at the Urban Guild Awards is NTBA member Giovanni Palladino AIA for Eastdale Village! The winner of the Design Excellence Award in the category of Urban Design, Eastdale Village in Poughkeepsie, New York epitomizes the engaging, active lifestyle that a live-work-play community holds for its residents and visitors. Hailed by locals as the “second happiest place on earth”, it features 400+ apartments and 120,000 s.f. of retail, restaurants and office space. Congratulations Giovanni, Kirchhoff Companies, and UNION!

And the awards keep coming. Congratulations to NTBA member Jeremy Sommer, AIA, CNU-A, LEED AP on winning the Urban Guild’s Barranco Award! This award is granted to individuals who not only distinguished themselves in design but who also demonstrate a gift for building enduring relationships beyond architecture, and inspiring coalitions for transformative change in the lives of families and communities—while unselfishly not caring who gets credit.

We’re not done just yet! Sending a big congratulations to NTBA members Louis Nequette, Jared Calhoun and Chad Martin of Nequette Architecture & Design for being awarded the Design Excellence Award from the Urban Guild for their Pendergraft Building. The Pendergraft Building is a mixed-use building that stands at the entry into the master-planned community of Drake Farms in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The building’s tower reaches out to the street edge and invites visitors to travel through the open portico covering the entry walk into the new development. The structure, clad in stone with a clay tile roof, anchors one corner of the commercial core of Drake Farms. Giving off a "Modern National Park” aesthetic, you can see both its traditionally inspired proportions and its natural material palette and how that language has been interpreted into clean, modern detailing.

Our members are coming in hot with the awards this week! Allison Ramsey Architects, Inc was the recipient of this year’s Urban Guild Merit Award for Design Excellence in the “Missing Middle” category for their Washington Duplex. Located in the heart of historic Beaufort, SC, this duplex is a perfect example of how innovative design can transform challenging, non-conforming spaces into practical, beautiful solutions. At just 952 square feet, it maximizes every inch to create two compact, adaptable units that can serve as owner-occupied homes, rentals, or even short-term vacation properties. We also want to congratulate NTBA member Robert Sitkowski for his work on Sol Housing's PAH! Hiland Plaza in Albuquerque, which was just awarded the Urban Land Institute Terwilliger Center for Housing's award for Innovation in Attainable Housing! PAH! Hiland Plaza (PAH) is a mixed-use, multifamily apartment community with a leasing preference for the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing. PAH is one of only a few such developments in the U.S., and its leasing preference ensures an affordable housing option for those who rely primarily on visual communication such as American Sign Language (ASL).

We love seeing good work being recognized. Recently awarded the Urban Land Institute's Jack Kemp Affordable Housing Award, Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise's award-winning work building Missing Middle Housing received a helping hand from several NTBA members. Congratulations to Macon Toledano, whose efforts at the Lyndhurst Foundation were critical, and Kronberg Urbanists + Architects who worked diligently on urban planning and architecture!
